| “Before and After”: A Flash Presentation/Article on Cuba and Three Vicious Hurricanes By José Reyes I have decided to write an article with the least number of descriptive words, the slide shows here will speak for themselves. After observing the “Before and After” flash presentations I provide here, I would like some input from you all please.
After all the water resides, the electricity is restored and help finally arrives to everyone that was affected by these two powerful hurricanes, will the Castro regime rebuild the homes and the lives of the Cuban people? After all, it is a Communist system, everyone is equal, everyone will be helped and supported, everyone will benefit in the same manner. Will they build new homes for the homeless, will they supply food and medicine for all, will the schools reopen, will the confidence of the Cuban people be restored? Well, just for starters, Raul is rejecting and refusing help (medicine, food, water, clothing) from the global community, except for a minute few. The world is willing, ready and able to help the Cuban people (all of them) affected by the hurricane. These are the people who the Castro regime supposedly represents. We, will see in the coming months, this will be the "challenge", and will be very critical towards the survival of this crippling regime. I personally feel the Castro regime will not support the people in Cuba with any real aid, but this reaction is old news. The only agenda in mind, concerning the Castro regime, is the reconstruction of the affected tourist sites throughout the island and there are many. "First things first" now, come on, the Cuban people can handle it, they have gone through a 49 year crisis already, let's take care of the damaged Hotels, Villas and Cabañas first. Let's concentrate on the tobacco and the sugar industry. The land where these people lived are spoiled and finished now, they'll find somewhere else to live?? What will Raul do for the people? Absolutely Nothing! What has he done for the people in Cuba, the last 49 years? Absolutely Nothing!
After all that has happened in only the last month or so, what is the real humane difference between the before and after pictures? These hurricanes cannot be used as a scapegoat now. The Cuban people in Cuba have been living in these conditions for almost 5 decades. They have been treated as slaves all along under the Castro regime and now they have no so-called homes to live in. Look at their personal possessions floating on the streets. Look at the rotted houses they live in and look at how they are all searching for something to salvage, for this is part of life in Cuba. The people in Cuba spend most of their life searching and inventing, "Inventando", a famous Cuban expression for when you are struggling in life and have to make ends meet. Now, they really have absolutely nothing and somehow they are able to smile, how resilient they are. God bless them all! These are the citizens of Cuba, what will the Castro regime invent now?
By the way, if you were wondering about the third hurricane, it’s "La Revolucion", the longest running hurricane ever in the island of Cuba. What will the Castro Regime do for the citizens of Cuba now? What have they done for them in the last 49 years? |
