"Talking Football" (Part 15)

 By José Reyes

Cubans are considered huge baseball fans and "Beisbol" is our favorite sport but because we been in this country for so many years we have adopted and become huge football fans also. When baseball season is over we can concentrate on football. This is a compilation of all the football terms that are used in English. I will "try" to translate the terms into "Cuban". Just think of how you would have explained these terms to your father, who brought you to America so you could live free or to a Cuban refugee who has just arrived, fleeing from the Castro's regime. Just think of asking your father how he would spell the positions and terms. There are many "Cubanglish" translations here because Cuban-Americans really can't translate these terms, but we get by. We love football!  Note: If I missed one and I'm sure I did, please add it to the Comment Section in the end, so I could add it to the list, thank you!
