Cat got your tongue?
By José Reyes 8/13/2006
Fidel Castro had to cancel his tour for reasons disclosed, last night he failed
to show up for his own birthday batch, apparently he has abandoned his people
again and like he has done for the last 47 years. Could it be that he is too
ill, too distraught by his recent, very serious stomach operation, who knows? "Hey
Fidel, it seems that the operation was on your vocal cords, it seems that the
"Cat Got Your Tongue".
This is a famous saying used in
reference to a person who has committed something wrong and is trying to avoid
explaining and/or is ashamed of admitting the truth. This saying also implies that
there is something suspicious going on, something is wrong, there is something
here that is being camouflaged, some hidden truth, some
kind
of cover up. It also means that you are a person who speaks very freely, who is
very articulate and very outgoing with the public but now has nothing to say,
like an insult, an abandoning. Fidel has become speechless and on his
"80th" birthday, hundreds of thousands invited special communist fans
were present, patiently waiting for his arrival but he didn't show. This is
understandable and not unusual, that a man at the age of 80 would take several
weeks to recuperate from a serious stomach operation, for a matter of fact, it
would take at least a week and a half to get up from bed but in his case he was
up and walking in 2 days and "eating". He was in great spirits and
contemplated going to his birthday batch, instead he chose to stay in the
hospital or where ever he is and take "4 photographs", huh! Four very
suspicious photos, one with an issue of Granma newspaper in his bloody hands,
but you can't read the date on the paper, but then again who really cares, any
grade school kid can alter a picture with the right program, no big deal. It's
funny how Reuters, a very reliable news source on the internet, did not dare to
publish the pictures, especially after one of the photographers covering the
Israeli conflict had altered a picture, look here at the report Reuters.com
Alright, let's set the futile attempt of the pictures aside and concentrate on
something more important to me and most important for the few hard core
followers of his, in Cuba and the confused others around the world. Let's ask
the question, "Why haven't you said anything Fidel?" I don't care if
you spoke for a few minutes because if I were a follower of yours, I
would want to hear your voice, it is important to me, wouldn't you, come on, who is kidding
who here? Que Embarque! Not even a short 10 minute pep talk, that's all it would
have taken. He abandoned everybody like he has been doing for the last "47
Years", what a phony, what a liar. He is all about himself, he is not for
anybody but the jealous, the evil, the advantageous, the
lazy low lives who are
always waiting for a handout, that's all. What happened Fidel, The Cat got your tongue? How
irresponsible can a leader be and how incautious can he be also, the world is
watching, democracy is literally on his doorstep and pushing hard against it
and he doesn't have anything to say. He releases a press report and presents the
public a few pictures of himself, like he just got back from a hard workout at the gym,
"Que Paquete", there is definitely something wrong here, there is
something missing in this fiasco of predictable lies. According to the irrelevant
and unreliable press release of the communist Cuban news networks, he wants
everyone to hope for the best but pray for the worse. I'm sure everyone is
hoping for the best. For the best and most accurate report, the
"Truth of the matter", I know one thing is true and everybody
around the world is anxiously wondering, could he be in grave condition and
could he be
too weak to speak or could it be that this ruthless murderer has died? In light of all the great news, I was
wondering and also most Cubans in Cuba and around the world are probably
wondering, where is Raul?
